Can I try before I pay anything?
|
You can open an account and create a store right now for 30 days before you have to pay anything. If you would like to continue service after thirty days (and we’re sure you will), then all you have to do is enter your billing information on the payment information page in the Earthstores Manager. If you have any questions, please contact us and our friendly staff will be happy to help you.

Do I have to commit to a long term contract?
|
|
Not at all. After your first 30 days, all we ask is that you cancel 30 days in advance.
|

Are there any extra costs such as set-up fees or transaction fees ?
|
|
Earthstores does not charge transaction fees no matter what the volume. However, your bank may charge merchant transaction fees if you decide to include real-time credit card payment processing to your store.
|

Do I need a merchant account before I can build a store?
|
|
No, it is not necessary to get a merchant account to open your store for business. However, if you want to be able to accept real-time credit card payments, you do need to establish a merchant account. Because it can take some time to establish an account, you can build your store first, then open it for business and begin accepting credit cards once your merchant account is set up. Of course, you can always process credit card transactions in non-real-time if you already have a merchant account with a bank.

Do I have to know HTML?
|
|
You do not have to know HTML or have any Web design experience to set up a store. All you have to do to create a store is enter the name, price, and description for each of the items you want to sell.

Do I have to use a particular type of browser to build my store?
|
|
To take advantage of all that Earthstores has to offer, you must use a IE5.5
or greater or Netscape 4.7 or greater (excluding betas) web browser to build
and manage your
web store. To download either of the latest versions of these browsers,
visit Microsoft
or Netscape,
respectively.

Can we change a store once we've created it?
|
|
You can update your site as often as you want, from wherever you happen to be. Some of our users update their sites several times a day.

How do I put my own graphics into my store?
|
|
Inserting your own customized graphics into your store is easy. Just click on the Upload Pictures link in the Manager and follow the instructions from there. Before you begin the store-building process, you should put all of your graphics into Internet standard GIF or JPEG digital formats.

Does our store have to look the same as all the others?
|
|
One of the best features Earthstores offers is the high degree of flexibility you have when customizing your site. You have complete control over your site’s look and feel. Earthstores also offers a variety of great looking templates and color schemes, each of which have their own distinctive look and structure.

Who processes an order placed in my web store?
|
|
When you sign up to create a store, you are establishing a business presence for yourself on the Web. Earthstores does not supply products for you to sell. It is up to you to decide what products to sell, and how you will obtain those products (i.e. purchase them from a wholesaler, purchase them from another retailer, or create them yourself).

How do shoppers pay me for their orders?
|
|
When you build your store, you can choose the types of payments you want to accept. You can choose from a variety of payment options, including credit cards, checks, or COD orders.

How are credit card orders processed?
|
|
Processing a credit card order online involves a number of different components. Earthstores makes this potentially complicated process easy by offering support throughout the setup process.

Earthstores uses industry-standard SSL encryption to secure credit card information both on the way from the shopper from our server, and from our server on to the merchant.

You can receive an unlimited number of visitors without incurring any extra charges.

How will I know when someone places an order in my store?

There are two ways to get your orders:
Most users view orders on the Web: just go
to the Manager and click on the Transactions link.
You'll be able to view orders over a secure
connection.
When you build your store, you can choose to
have e-mail notifications sent to you every time
an order is placed in your store. This way you
can be sure that you are aware of all orders as
soon as they come in.

What's the difference between Earthstores and an Earthstore?

Earthstores, Inc. is the name of our company, while an Earthstore refers to a single store that has been created by an Earthstores customer. Therefore, if you have signed up for an account with us, you own and operate an Earthstore.

Does Earthstores advertise on my site?

|
Absolutely not. When you are done building and customizing your site, people won't even be able to tell you are using Earthstores.

|
|
What Earthstores offers you is value and ease of use. The costs associated with building and maintaining a fully functional e-commerce site can run into the tens of thousands of dollars annually. There are many complex components that must go into an e-commerce site. If you choose Earthstores, you don't have to pay a professional web designer to upkeep and expand your site, nor do you have to pay any additional hosting fees. All you have to do is build your site (you can have a fully functional site going in about an hour) and then manage it. Earthstores can also provide you with an Internet merchant account, which allows you to process credit card orders in real-time.

We have also placed the sections of the Earthstores Manager that contain sensitive information (such as the transaction history section) on our secure server, so that your information will be safe.

Do I get a referral bonus if I refer someone to Earthstores?

If you refer a friend or colleague to Earthstores you'll receive the first month's billing ($35, $50, $75, or $100) in the form of a credit to your Earthstores account or as a direct payment. Credits/payments will be made upon the successful collection of the first month's billing. Be sure your friend or colleague mentions you by name upon signing up to ensure you receive credit for the referral.
